The community centre was built in December 1982 and has been running successfully ever since. It consists of a sports hall, a gym and aerobic studio, showers and changing facilities.
Outdoors, there are a full-size floodlit all-weather hockey pitch and five tennis courts. The all-weather pitch is multipurpose and is also used for soccer, GAA, cricket etc.
We also have the building beside the community centre, known as the Old School.
All these facilities are well-used. At present we have around 40 -50 different user groups catering to all ages from the very young (with our drop in crèche and Montessori) to the elderly (day care, meal on wheels etc.) and all ages in between.
We have lists of both adult and junior activities available in the community centre and also on our web site, which we try to keep this web up to date with regular activities and up and coming events.
The centre is governed by a board of management of which the chairman is Shay Fanning, but the day to day duties are carried out by the manager, Sharon Guinane.
